12.5 acres of organic farm on the banks of a small river nestled within
the lush green rain forest of Wayanad, you will dwell in perfect harmony

which practices sustainable / organic methods of farming has coffee,
cardamom, coconut, areca nut, nutmeg, banana, pepper, ginger, paddy and
many fruit plant cultivation. Staying at Pappy’s Nest is an excellent

The bungalow is spacious, independent and located
facing the lush green Wayanad rain forest. The home stay offers limited
accommodation (4 bedrooms) with attached dressing rooms and modern
bathrooms. Bathrooms are provided with hot water with solar water
heating. The bungalow is also with communal areas of sitting room,
dining room kitchen, garden, verandah. There is also a common first
floor living room with a balcony for forest view. |
| There is no air conditioning as it is not required,
telephone and internet are provided. The rooms are well furnished with
double beds, wardrobe, cupboard, satellite TV, table and chair.There are
plenty of doors and windows which open on to the farm and garden
allowing for excellent circulation of fresh breeze and fascinating views
from within. The floor is finished in rustic finish tiles and ceiling in
clay tiles. There is also a verandah finished in rustic tiles which runs
around the bungalow. There is a separate cottage for driver
accommodation.

| Food is definitely one of the highlights of Pappy's
Nest and the cuisine is mostly local. Being a traditional agrarian
household, lavish meals are more or less the norm and pretty much a way
of life. All meals are included in the price. Meals are served in the
family dining room or outdoors in the courtyard. Self catering
facilities are minimal. We are glad to cater for any special diets if
needed and also provide for vegetarian options too. In fact all meals
are discussed with the guests. The cuisine is predominantly Keralite
with a strong local influence. Most of the dishes served are from farm
vegetables and fruits, chicken, fish and occasionally other meats,
supplemented with rice and rice based local breads like appam, string
hoppers etc. Desserts are usually puddings, fresh fruits and some local
treats. |

Activities
As our home stay is set in an organic farm, guest can enjoy a morning
walk in the farm, can participate in farming activities. As we practice
mixed farming and intercropping, we are busy in every season.

clearing, paddy and ginger cultivation are all there to give our guest a
taste of rural life. |
| For bird watchers the farm offer ample opportunities
for sighting kingfishers, woodpeckers, egrets, cormorants, herons,
snakebirds, teals, etc. Generally in Wayanad forests, the best time for
bird watching is during the spring or fall migrations when many
different varieties of birds can be observed. During spring, large
numbers of birds travel into Wayanad for nesting locations. The best
time of the day for bird watching is early morning since the birds are
more active and vocal and are easily spotted during the dawn. You can
observe a variety of water birds in the beautiful water bodies of
Wayanad. Apart from water birds you can also spot preying birds. Other
popular varieties of birds that could be observed in Wayanad are singing
birds of various colors and sizes. |

Guest can enjoy the scenic beauty of tropical forest
across the river from the bungalow or enjoy trekking in the forest.
Wayanad trekking also presents stretches with different densities of
wildlife. The major attractions while trekking in rainforests areas are
the streams and waterfalls.
Chembra peak is a major spot in trekking Wayanad. Chembra peak has
hills, rocks and valleys, and presents lots of adventure. It is the
highest hill in Wayanad and is located close to Meppady town.
Do a wider sightseeing and exploration trip of the countryside. You get
to enjoy the coffee plantations, paddy fields, canals and villages that
blend into each other. Feel the mixed farming practices of the
villagers. |
